The whales are back!
On a calm day, you can see them just off Albany’s Middleton Beach.
The large island in the photo is Michaelmas. The smaller one on the right hand side is Breaksea Island (1914 home of Fay Howe) … and the shadow in front of Breaksea is a Southern Right whale. There were about six lolling about yesterday. They raised tails and flukes, but I wasn’t quick enough with the camera. July 12th - photographs from the combined celebration of Dianne’s donation of book drafts and papers to the State Library of WA through the Cultural Treasures Program and also the purchase of the SCBWI cow for the new children’s area, The Place.
